Hunter's Moon, Pinwheel Gone Away, Florence Nightingale, and Dad'sPlaids

No I haven't given up yet just have been to busy to write up a post. Since my last post I've completed 4 more blocks putting me right on schedule of where I wanted to be. My goal for each month is to get 6 blocks completed by the 15th. That way I get the other 7 done by the end of the month and have the row finished.

I didn't my first ever appliqué piece with A3. I actually like doing the curved pieces and doing the appliqué. I may take that back as I get on to some more difficult shapes.

After starting with A1 and putting it on the back burner I'm so glad to have picked it back up and finished  it! It wasnt as scary this time around.

A8 was an easy one and the perfect one to follow A1.

Finally I finished A7. I think this is going to be one of my favorite blocks. I love the dark blue and the Gold together it kind of gives a tribute to my FFA days!!

Tinker Toy & Water Lilly

Block B-9 i'm really proud of. It's not a difficult one but I actually took the time to really fussy cut the fabric to give it a cool design. I'm not real big on fussy cutting because it just takes too much time and wastes fabric but with this fabric I really wanted to make the stripes go in an organized fashion.

Block B-8 is another one of my favorites. Maybe it's because I really like the fabric choice or because I like doing the orange peels and appliqueing them to the block. Either or I like how it turned out.

Wild Goose Chase & Four Corner Press

I seem to get back on schedule when I start a new row out. Getting 5 finished rather quickly. It did take me some extra time but I finished up the first 6 with block B-6. This one wasn't extremely difficult but I dislike doing the narrow strips. But I got her finished on Friday 20th. Not too far off of halfway mark in the month.

The same day I finished B-6 I also started out with the next 7. I Jumped clear to block B-13. It was an easy one and a much needed break from some of those more difficult ones. This was some of my favorite fabric I found and I was wanting to use it in a block where I could cut a bigger piece out of it. I also fussy cut the 4 corner squares.

Chris's Soccer Field, Sweet Tater Pie, & Hot Cross Buns

Yet another busy week plagued me from getting a lot accomplished. But we were expecting an ice storm to hit over the weekend and something big happening at work where all staff was needed so once again I camped out at work. This time for 3 days!! Again I took my sewing and got a lot accomplished. I'm seeing a trend here. I need to remove myself from home and find a quiet place where I can focus on sewing! I got 3 blocks completed for row B.

B-2 Another round one I enjoyed doing. This one with a few more pieces.

B-5
Remember when I despised half square triangles.... My new enemy is the diamond! No they aren't hard to baste but when you go to applique them to the block it's hard hiding the tail. I'm going to have to ask around to find an easy solution for that.

Bachelor Buttons & Mirror Image

One day a couple weeks ago we were expected to get snow. Well I was afraid to go home and not be able to make it to work the next day. So I stayed at work and brought my sewing along and got 2 blocks from row B started and finished not long after. It was my first time working with circles and more rounded shapes and I really enjoyed doing them. I tried a couple different methods on my circles and I think they turned out fine.

Pebble's Protest, Cabin Fever, Cathie's Campfire

So along with the holidays came the delays and I didn't get to finish my Row A until after the new year! I was so disappointed in myself but instead of giving up I kept chugging along and got the final 3 blocks finished on January 9th!

Block A-11 wasn't so bad and I liked how it turned out. But the next 2 were probably my least favorite out of the row!! Maybe that's why I did them last :)

A-9 gave me so many fits I put it down and took many breaks working on it but am happy it's finished. It may not be perfect but it's done!

A-5 was the only block out of the row that I put together once and then took it apart again. My 4 corner squares wouldn't fit so i decided to try again and it worked a little better the 2nd time around.

Starlight-Starbright & Framed Fancy

Since the holidays came around the quilting got put on hold. I was doing good with staying on track but now I'm a little worried about finishing all 13 blocks by the end of the month. Then tonight I sat down and got 2 blocks done!!! WOW I got one finished and thought I'd start basting another and finish it tomorrow but I just kept sewing and got it finished! Now I only have 3 blocks to finish. Which leaves me still at a block a day to get them finished.

The first block I did was A-13. It was probably the easiest I had left.

Then the second block i finished was A-12. More little tiny triangles......

The one good thing is I have 5 days off in a row! So I'm planning on spending them sewing away!!!
